Well-known online bullion dealers

These are three of the best-known online bullion dealers in the U.S. Compare the same product at all three on the same day before you order.

How I choose a dealer (my checklist)

  1. Compare the premium over spot, not just the price. Check the same product at two or three dealers on the same day.
  2. Check shipping and payment fees. Paying by card usually costs more than bank wire or check.
  3. Look for free shipping thresholds, and don’t buy extra just to hit them.
  4. Stick to well-known dealers. Be careful with marketplaces and “too good to be true” deals, where fakes are common.
  5. Read the return and cancellation policy before you order. Bullion orders generally can’t be cancelled once the price is locked.
